Obituary of Henry O'Meara

O’Meara, Henry of Breezy Point, native of Flagmount, County Clare, Ireland, and longtime Brooklynite passed away on April 18, 2015 while at home and surrounded by his loving family. Devoted Husband of Della (nee Sheridan). Adored father of Mary Elizabeth Cronin (Jim), Patricia, and Michael (Ann). Loving grandfather of Bridget, James, Michael, Marykate, Michael and Meghan. Cherished brother of Bridie Purcell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Henry was very devout in his Catholic faith and attended Mass daily until he was prevented by illness. In the past he was an active member of St. Brendan’s Parish in Brooklyn. Henry was the past President of both the Saint Patrick’s Society of Brooklyn, and the County Clare Association of New York. Henry retired after many years of service with the NY State Courts, where he loved his job. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Henry had a life well lived, and was loved by all who met him. Reposing at Marine Park Funeral Home, 3024 Quentin Road, Brooklyn, NY, Tuesday 7 to 9pm and Wednesday 2 to 5pm and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday in St. Thomas More R.C. Church, Breezy Pt. Interment to follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
