Imelda Cronin

Obituary of Imelda M. Cronin

Imelda "Mona" Rouse Cronin died peacefully on November 25, 2015 in Southbury, CT. Mona was born in Enniscrone, Sligo, Ireland on January 3, 1932 to the late John & Annie Rouse. She immigrated to Brooklyn, NY when she was only 17 and worked at Merrill Lynch. She later met and married her love Pete, in Brooklyn and this is where she resided for many years. They raised their 3 children and Mona went to work at Interfaith Medical Center, first as the cashier in the cafeteria and followed by many years as the cashier in the medical clinic. Sadly, Mona lost Pete at the age of 50. Though her family lived all over the world, Mona cherished the time she could spend with her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and especially her siblings both in the U.S. and “across the pond”. After retiring, Mona moved to CT where she resided until the time of her death. Her family would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home in Southbury, CT for their heartfelt care for so many years. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1983. Mona leaves behind her son Joseph and his wife JoAnne, John and his wife Sharon, daughter Jane Melton and her husband Kenneth. Dear sister of Cyral Rouse, Frank Rouse, Tony Rouse, Willie Rouse, Teresa Cron and the late Michael Rouse, Thomas Rouse, Sean Rouse, Mary Kingdon, Nan Hallinan and Benny Lacken.
